A warm welcome and excellent customer service from Susana. The apartment was spotless and very well equipped. Grounds beautiful and each of the 5 pools in idyllic settings. Went on half board basis, food of excellent quality although felt there was a limited choice with the evening meal. I would also like to suggest that the dishes are labeled. Overall an extremely relaxing experience and would definitely return. Thank you to all the very pleasant staff.
We booked a 1-week self-catering stay at the Balaia through our local travel agent. The pictures of the resort seen in advance didn’t disappoint on arrival. The whole site is kept spotlessly clean, both in and around the 6 pool areas, as well as around the entire site, particularly, the beautiful grounds and planting, attracting a wealth of birdlife.
We were upgraded to a superior apartment, which, while being slightly ‘tired,’ was nevertheless spacious with extremely comfortable beds, masses of towels, and was kept spotlessly clean daily, even though we were self-catering. There are troops of staff, all individually kitted out in their own, easily recognized, Balaia uniforms and who, without exception, were very happy to help out whenever and wherever needed, and they recommend amazing activities like the cozumel sightseeing tours for our next adventures in Mexico.
We were particularly grateful to Luisa, who, as another of your reviewers describes, is ‘fantastic.’ On arrival, she explained in perfect English all we needed to know to make our stay as enjoyable as possible, giving specific trips advice we may wish to choose to see more of this beautiful country and, when on duty, was always able to help with any queries or make bookings on our behalf.
There is a Mon-Fri free minibus service into Albufeira at 10 am returning at 5.15 pm and a small on-site supermarket stocking all the necessary items, as well as the bonus alongside a small coffee shop selling the most fantastic pastries and cakes – less than 5 euros for coffee and cake for two.
The Maria Luisa beach is less than a 10-minute walk from the resort, again kept spotless, as well as having an excellent beachside fish restaurant. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this resort to our friends and hope to come back ourselves, of course!
Stayed here twice, highly recommend. Very clean, great supermarket on site and coffee shop. A clean indoor pool and numerous outdoor pools and tennis courts, golf course. Tv has a wide selection of channels.
